I'm going to bombard you with some serious questions about this topic, Wager. I hope that's ok!

How are the college kids/anyone else disrespecting the flag by kneeling?
What if they're kneeling but place their hand over their heart? Would that still be disrespectful?
What if a football player is still wearing their helmets during the national anthem, is that disrespectful?

I was taught that you're supposed to stand attention, face the flag, place your hand over your heart, remove your hat and shut the f' up when the anthem is played. So if a college kid/adult doesn't do all of those things, I guess that's being disrespectful?

As we all know, there is a lot of debate from both sides about why it is or isn't disrespectful

One side claims they aren't disrespecting anything & only trying to get a point across

While the other side says it is indeed disrespectful because there's other ways to argue your points and better times

I suppose the way many look at is this:

If someone tells you that something you do around them bothers them and they feel like you are disrespecting them when you do it, then in most cases even if we don't see it the same way or understand, we will still stop for the benefit of that other person

Ok it has been made clear by Millions & millions of ppl that they think it is disrespectful to kneel during the anthem and that it offends them

Yet the same groups of ppl don't give a sh!t and continue, instead of simply going another route

What does that tell you about those ppl??

It speaks volumes...

Thanks for your insight Wager. When you say millions of people say that it's disrespectful, to whom are the million and millions? The republicans, the conservatives .....

Do you ever wonder about what percentage of football players actually stand attention, take off their helmets, and place their hand over their heart during the national anthem? Because you have to do all that in order to show respect to the flag. If not the players, how about the people in attendance? Over 50% or under?

can't remember the last well known athletes that kneeled is it still a thing.

if millions of people are offended by something should that ean other numbers of people have to lay down their constitutional rights and freedoms?

I don't even do this all the time at the high school or other games I attend each Friday night

But I don't kneel either

Why can't that be considered meeting in the middle?

Ok you want to make a point then don't take your helmet off or don't place your hand on your chest

No need to take it to the extreme and still kneel

Let's say when having sex with your wife (or boyfriend) you are smacking her bottom and calling her a slut when doing it

She eventually tells you that she doesn't mind you slapping her butt, but it offends her when you call her a slut

So out of respect you stop and leave that part out from now on, or you find an alternative

Pretty simple logic in all walks of life treat others as you want to be treated

Yeah I don't think it has been a thing or the few that still do it don't get the publicity anymore when going it

What bothers me is just disrespectful effing ppl

We've all been in scenarios where we may not agree with something or someone but still play along or keep our mouth shut just out of respect to appease the other person(s)

But when ppl can't or refuse to meet in the middle that means they don't give a fu¢k about your opinion, so why should you theirs

it’s not a right or left topic, it’s a respect for those that served and died for the freedom to even have an opinion on the topic, many should go back to their native land and they will quickly be on their knees begging to come back to the US, ask Griner
