Sadly - I think we now have our answer.

Given the amount of time that has past - I just hope he is still out there somewhere - and just decided to take a break for his own reasons and that having to leave the BMR family was part of that break.

We will likely never know - I know it was mentioned he drank (a lot) - maybe that’s what caused the need to suddenly break away from BMR - obviously getting sober and continuing to gamble (or be around it) would not generally be advisable.

Plenty of things can happen aside worst case - so we can just hope it’s one of those. The phone no longer in service I think is ultimately the “best” sign possible - if you pass - generally people don’t turn off your phone that fast for a variety of reasons. Shutting down contact generally is a sign you don’t want to be contacted so I guess we leave it at that.

I have done tons of searching using his 'real" name (at least the one he gave me via email) but haven't found much of anything. I was thinking about calling a few names that I found in that area that have the same surname just to see if they knew him but, that's kind of a needle in a haystack and trying to describe why I was looking for him (forum friend) may not go over well.

The phone being disconnected is not necessarily a bad sign. He could of just changed the # but still using the same provider. He possibly just wanted to be done with anyone in his personal life and start over. The phone thing is not a big deal in my opinion. I sure hope he is ok and comes back either under CK or a new name! Has the community determined who will be the next big donator to the forum? CK opened his heart and wallet and donated countless times and $ to contests. He made this place amazing with his generosity. I hope that someone here that has the financial means steps up and donates to contests like CK. That part will be missed as well as his presence here. u can find so much stuff with a persons name and phone number check the north carolina records most states are public records if he died there should be a way to see it online, i used to love doing research online on people it can be time consuming also could look into the duke thing we really dont' know much about ck except that he was a little bit older maybe 50's or 60's who knows maybe he had a terminal cancer it is a mystery
