The Great Glen Trails at the base of Mt. Washington. I climbed Mt. Flume in the Franconias when I was a kid... beautiful area. Camping there must have been great.

Aside from the assholes, how was Miami Beach?
Have always wanted to summit Washington. It’s beautiful indeed

Miami is a wonderful place. I’d definitely go back. I had a couple crazy nights, Friday in particular. Lot of fun, didn’t make it to that restaurant though

had the worst migraine ive had in a longgg time yesterday. when i get migraines, i get horrible aura's so i cant see anything and i have to basically become a mole burrowed in the dark.

feeling a bit better today, but still have that lingering pounding headache and my eyes feel so sensitive to light still

definitely a result of stress, and also dehydration prob.

SO

drink lots of water and do something to relieve stress today

That's horrible. Have you seen a doctor? I hope these aren't frequent and you continue to feel better.

no i havent see one. and i get them from time to time. i get them pretty often depending on my stress levels or even simply the weather. for example very over cast, bright gray skies and and often rain give me migraines.

always thought they were genetic cause my dad always got them too.

but i appreciate you. just have to try to take it easy and avoid a lot of bright lights/ sccreens

Damn. I think the forum can forgive you if you get away from the forum/computer screen for a day or two to get your head straight. GL.

I need people to start breaking their New Year's Resolutions. The gym is too crowded! :p

Whenever I start lifting after a small layoff I get a lot of delayed muscle soreness. Anyone else deal with this/have any tips? I ordered a foam roller so I'll give that a shot. Yoga helps, but it's not a permanent as I would like.

GL to all with your workouts.

I get it when I have long layoffs which will occur again as soon as I go back to the gym this year. I stopped for 2 years and planning on going back after Super Bowl.

Anyway, when I get muscle soreness. I apply heat. To reduce or prevent it I would keep my body (the specific worked out part of the body) throughout the day active. Such as if started working out arms again, I would start off in the morning. Wouldn’t suggest evening so your body can recoup by moving arms throughout the day. Periodically I just move my arms or do arms stretches. If feel tightness, then apply low heat and massage a little bit. Don’t know if it works, but eat more than usual bananas (or drink it in shake and add more than usual).

My worst experience was after a few months layoff and started back up but went straight heavy lifting doing curls, etc, in the evening. Went to sleep within 3 hours and woke up and my right arm was completely stiff in the L-shape and couldn’t bend it at all. It took about 2 days to fully recover with full mobility. So depending on the length of layoff, definitely take it easy first few sessions.
