Don't wait until you need one. Last year even paying for "accelerated processing" it took 4 months.

I looked east coast stuff but there were about 400 canceled flights Mon & Tues so I just went direct to FL

...and you can look that up btw to verify, Newark, PHI INT, La Guardia & JFK all had a cluster fukk of cancelations & rescheduled flights.
