I had a classmate that was in her late 20s. One of the smartest in the class that had a stroke years prior. She went on and was just fine and continues to work. Keep in mind it took time and she wasn't actively in a Senate race starting the debate saying "Hi, good-night everybody" either. Not sure she would have been cleared for clinicals in that condition no matter what the Dr's said she could do.

It depends on who you talk to. And it depends on what the victim of the stroke is recovering from. Not every stroke is the same. What John has is something that comes back over time and some rehab. You can say people aren’t gullible but people recover and he’s not an old guy. His diet has changed and he’s now on regular medication.

I was against debates from the start because he wasn’t gonna be ready so soon after the stroke. I was against the interview with nbc. Mostly because when people don’t really understand enough about something, they immediately start doing their own medical diagnosis. But, I’m one voice and there was alot of pressure. He didn’t need to do this because he was still ahead in internals up until yesterday. But once you agree, it looks worse if you back out. So, that’s that.
