There was mob-related voting irregularity, but no concrete evidence that it actually pushed Kennedy over the edge. In fact, there's pretty strong evidence that it didn't. So not fair to say Kennedy stole the election from thatJFK won Illinois because the mob paid people to vote. In turn the mob expected gratuity’s. Instead he appointed his brother RFK the attorney general who went after the mob. IMO this pissed them off so they had him assassinated.
And when RFK ran he was also assassinated. So when JFK won a tight and shady race the attorney general asked Nixon if he wanted to contest the election He said no he didn’t want to put the country through all that. Nixon was a good man and was rewarded in 1968 went on to win two terms.
