Stay even keel or don’t gamble. If you are not winning, and you feel like you’re approaching tilt status, walk the other way from that perspective. There will always be another day another week or another month where you can get back on track.

gotta play it cool
never get too high or 2 low, keep a even mood going
Otters, I'm a little surprised you mentioned "How do you cope". You've been gambling a long time. I would have thought you were past the point of too many emotional highs/lows effecting you. Like CK, ST, and JDS mention, just go with the flow. Don't over-extend and enjoy the plays.

I used to be a nervous wreck. I'd bit my nails, pace around the room watching a big bet play out on TV, scream/yell when s#it didn't go my way.... I'm past that now. Sure I get mad once in a blue moon but it fades quick.

Ya. I'm talking about the sudden swings. Like your team is up by 20 and you are already counting on the win so you are in a good mood with the people around you. Then you check the score and the other team came back for you to lose. Hard for me to keep that charm because it was induced by the fact I was going to win

Ok. Got it.
Yeah, I get pissed when a game that is locked up (or should be) suddenly becomes a loss. Usually, I just shut it off and yell at the cat. Its cool though. The cat is deaf. :ROFLMAO:

That is why I don't watch 95% of what I bet unless I am watching a hometown team or a primetime football game. Just look it up the next day in your book balance.

Yea this really is a thing. I'm not sure it's indicative of gambling addiction but its likely not healthy screwing with your hormones like that constantly.

I guess a coping mechanism could be to just not give a fuk win or lose, lower bet amounts, find something else to replace the rush or crash from gambling. I like to take my family out for a nice meal, go to the movies, go to the beach and have a couple of drinks...

I have personally encountered people who act differently when they lose their bets. They are very unstable and I can only hope the best for them.
I used to be worse but my wife knows when i lose a big bet. She says I get more sarcastic , more cynical and little things don't make me smile like I normally am.

I'm a bit nuts though and replay shit in my head a lot. 😅 I'm sure a normal person wouldn't do that. Gambling is supposed to be fun

Back when I still drank, about a quart of moonshine, would straighten that mood right out!
Sometimes wash it down with at least an eight ball, but that was years ago.
Now just cornbread and iced tea with a dark haired beauty with big brown eyes, with two points on her own, standing way up high!
