It won't happen this time the Lakers window is closed unless they pull off a major FA overhaul to their roster. They're too old now imo to make a real legit run at the title. IMO it's Boston again even though it's very hard to repeat. I say this because Tatum and Brown are in their prime and they finally broke through. Everybody else is playing catch up at this point I think.

Great take, Jr.

I'm thinking of Boston vs Dallas, or Boston vs Nuggets in the finals.

I think Denver, Dallas, OKC and Minnesota are all way better than LA as they're currently constructed. Truthfully the West is so deep we could get some teams take a step forward next season like San Antonio and Houston who have good young talent but were still rebuilding this past season. I think San Antonio is interesting because they have Wemby and should get him some help in the draft and possibly in free agency.

LT also mentioned Minnesota when I sent him this thread.

I think they bounce back too

Lost the ‘Eye Of The Tiger’ after winning it last year

The hunger will return next season
They better get a bench. That’s why they choked this year they weren’t deep enough and Minnesota beat them. Then Minnesota couldn’t beat Dallas imo because beating Denver in 7 games took everything they had left to finish the job.

It was more about the match-up than the bench. Tough defensive length against Murray and their backcourt.

Denver would have likely beaten Dallas pretty comfortably

That said, they could use one more good guard option

I disagree to an extent because Jokic had to play 47 minutes in game 7. They got physically worn down by Minnesota who was deeper than them. It was a tough matchup for sure because Minnesota has a legit defense but I think losing their key pieces off the bench from their championship season doomed Denver.

I think both are true

We knew Denver was going to need Jokic to be more of a scorer because of Minnesota’s perimeter length

So yes they need to be deeper (the Nuggets)

My point is that this playoff cycle taught us a lot about the importance of match ups

Minnesota didn’t match up vs Dallas.

Just like Dallas wouldn’t match up vs Denver
