The school announced Tuesday that the Cowboys will sport QR codes on their helmets linking to a donation page for the school's NIL fund, believed to be a first in college football.

The QR codes on the back of each helmet will be 1.5 square inches. The school said that while the codes won't be visible from the stands on game day, fans watching during television broadcasts will be able to capture them on their phones. Oklahoma State believes this will help raise the team's NIL value throughout the year.

As long as players don't take individual contributions this seems like a smart move by OSU. What's the o/u on the number of teams that do this starting this season.

I think you actually just came up with a great idea

Why not let every play have a unique code so that anyone can send to their individual player of choice at anytime?!?

It may be your favorite player and want to support them by sending their way

Or a guy could make the game-winning play and fans send to him

The possibilities are endless!

This is a great idea.
I may start posting on BMR with a QR code in my footnotes.
Would be nice for people to donate to ME. ;)

There are already a lot of haters in this helmet code saying like.. "why would I send him money? he already got free education".

I guess only true football fans can relate to this.

Or you could pay him to drop a pass or miss a field goal.

Really - what’s next - Sarah freaking McLachlan doing an ad spot with starving animals telling us how student athletes are starving every day and for just $30 a month we can symbolically adopt a college football player ?

I mean I get NIL is a competitive field - that’s why you establish a “salary cap” - just like every pro team has.

All we need is the people posting here being allowed to become virtual panhandlers.
