I keep replaying the part where he asks to drop the pot to see what Sonya did.. but the camera is not clear to that angle and then 3 shots were fired.

The officer who shot was kinda bossy even from the start.

Here's the sequence.

First: She was already on the floor dropped and the pot was still on the top.



Second: The cop asks her to remain dropped but she stands up and able to grab the pot, but that's also the time the cop shoots her...



My only question is.. was that even going to qualify for a self-defense?

However, simply another case of not listening to an officers’ orders/requests

There is news saying that the cop who shot Sonya worked for 6 agencies in 4 yrs. That's not going to help his case here. But I agree that there will be no problem if you just follow the cop's instruction, though Sonya seems to be a little distressed and acting weird, I wonder if she has a medical "mental issue".

She did have the pot in hand and threw at him, so that should get him off the hook because it gave him the right m (despite overreaction)

Cops also can’t help if someone is a little screwy upstairs.
They don’t have time to do a mental history check on ppl. They have to look out for their own safety.

A lot of cops move around as they gain experience looking for better pay & location

For example here locally they will start their careers with the city PD, and in time move over to the sheriffs dept because it’s always been much better pay.
Although this was addressed recently and wages were increased at the City PD

I remember as a teenager seeing this cop on side of highway standing legs spread and gun pointed at 2 ppl he had laying in the ditch on their stomach yelling at them not to move

I thought at the time wow this guy is not fit to be a police officer

But now I realize I didn’t know the whole story and maybe he had to do it for good reason
