Being away from your family is not easy. So this song hits me differently.

I swear EVERYONE from WV knows that song…they sing it after saying the pledge of allegiance I think.

Growing up not far from Jamboree in The Hills - also got used to hearing it ad nauseam every 3rd week in July.

Usually there are like 3 states you can immediately tell if someone is from - Texas, Jersey or WV - accents give it away.

In my 40's and I'm still trying to figure out my life, I'm still not where I wanna be from a financial stand point, but things are better. So this song will always come to mind if you know the lyrics of the song lol.

Most damn annoying song I can remember in some
time - remember when it came out thinking I never knew Yoko Ono had a daughter who took up music - that damn singers voice !!!

It worked out well for her though I guess - might be considered a one hit wonder as this is the only song SHE made big - but she did write quite a few of P!nk’s early hits I believe and made a tidy sum off those publishing rights.

3+ years ago, going through my divorce, this song hit differently. The lyrics, the music video. Lewis Capaldi helped me get through my divorce emotionally.

Love that song. Amazing. Glad it helped you.

My favorite version is the one where the crowd "covered" the song when Lewis' tourette's kicked in.

This one requires a bit of an explanation - you have to understand the lyrics.

Basically it was written from the view point of a man who lived his entire life in England - but longed to return to his ancestors home of Ireland. I get that in a way - I’m American - my parents/grandparents were American - but my great grandparents were from Ireland and Italy. Always wanted to go back to Ireland one day.
