The O -Man won the last at TB.It was a maiden race and it was a first time starter for him....He was about 11-1 with 10 minutes to post.He closed at 5-1 and won while getting a good stalking trip(was 6th most of the race)& closing well.I played him across the board and a $1 exacta box(6-8 -10).He was the 10 ....6 got second at 12 -1.....Exacta came back over $100 for$1....nice work O-Man and RD.We got the job done.only race I've bet in over a week....lol

I did not. Glad Fifty did though!

This is how my weekend went:
Sat: Ochoa ran down late at 24-1, settled for third.
Sat: Posadas caught in the shadow of the wire at 76-1, settled for second.
Sun: Tony Wilson passed in the shadow of the wire at 23-1, settled for second.

Laid off the Ochoa winner when I saw he was hovering around 5-1. His barn is rounding into form.

Merry Christmas, men!

Interesting tidbit about that Ochoa horse. Wished I caught it sooner. Ochoa primarily trains horses that he owns, GOP STABLE. His winner on Sunday was owned by Gran Chanito Stable. They are a very small outfit with very solid numbers in limited starts. See below. Something to look for going forward.

Against my better judgement, I am betting against my beloved Ochoa (#4). His barn is starting to roll BUT I have been on the lookout for trainer Pat Clay. Clay is a Louisiana guy who is making his first foray into Tampa, as far as I can tell.
He won on opening day with Castanon up, ran a good second the other day, again with Castanon up. So, it looks like his good mounts are going to Castanon, and I have been waiting to pounce at a price

Clay horse had nothing. Ochoa lost by a neck. Either way, I was a loser.

-$639 for meet
Get it, RD!

I’ve laid off playing Ochoa for a bit. Seems his barn needs a little time to round into form. HOWEVER….in race 1 he has an absolute bomb entered, so I’m jumping in.

Race 1
$20 win #1 Tins 30-1
$2 DD 1/1,2
.50c P3 1/1,2/ALL
Horse made its first start at Colonial in a MSW dirt sprint. Did nothing, Ochoa laid her off until December. Came back going turf route for the first time, dropped down to MCL. Bumped hard at the break so showed nothing. Now, Ochoa brings it back to a turf route, still at the MCL level.
I don’t think we saw what the horse could actually do on the turf when it was bumped so hard last out. Plus, I always pay attention when Ochoa uses a no-name jock like this guy Neptali. Ochoa has a history of throwing bettors off the scent by using jocks we never heard of. Hope for a clean break. Currently sitting at 54-1.

Risk $28, -$639 for meet
