Rankings only mean you have the most points any given year or ore than the next person

It is a terrible measure of who the better player is too many other factors go into winning a tourney or a matchup

This is quite true. It's not something that happens very often but it has certainly happened. And this can be seen reflected by seeing the same players in different leagues and tournaments.
