It’s all about money he’s not giving it up
Make it sound like if he walks away right now he hasn't made at LEAST 50 million. There would be some type of injury settlement but the team signed that deal knowing damn well this could happen. If he is in "need" of money then that just further proves the impact of the 3 concussions he already had.

It’s going to be a very serious decision for him in off season.

Given he has already taken lessons in martial arts to learn to hit the ground without hitting his head - I suspect he leans to the take the money and walk - at least for a year.

Never dealt with concussions - but had a family member who did playing HS football - had a TON of them - the thing about concussions is each one comes easier and easier. By the time you’re at 4 in a career - you’ve likely had a few dozen “unofficial” concussions. Going to seriously mess himself up if he continues.

A lot of it’s just the way he plays - you can’t unlearn things you’ve done for 12-15 years. You’ve been the most physically gifted player on most every team you played on pre NFL and you play like it - running guys over. Thing is in the NFL - that gap doesn’t exist and it will get you killed. Teams are learning this and de-emphasizing guys who play with that all out wreck less abandon.

Watching Tua at this point is like playing Russian Roulette. You know its going to happen again and the end result. He has 4 empty bullet chambers and two left with a bullet. Everyone is not built to be a career professional athlete. The average career is still less than 4 years. We all know how this is going to end. You can’t play this sport being hesitant. Tua can’t take professional football hits anymore. The next sack takes him out for good. Its just a 15 yard penalty and a first down.

I guess it’s all about money

Nah man, I think that's bullshit, or at least part bullshit. He loves the game.

He needs to learn there will be life after football and how to make a transistion.

I think we all agree it would be much better if he steps down on his own, whenever that may be, and isn't forced to after the next big hit.
