As to the USA “welcoming” immigrants from Africa - a lot depends what nation your from. This is not one we generally care about to be honest.

Somalia has pissed me off for the longest time - living in a city with a large Somali population for a while - absol the biggest drain on limited resource. The exiled are former “ruling class” family members - who expect similar treatment in the US. Worse - to many it’s a point of pride to “scam” the governmen. Weird culture - know several very hard working African immigrants over the years - but overall ALOT of con artist and cliches within the community. Some are just as much a prisoner here as they were at home. Just need to watch painting every nation with a broad brush.
