Must have had a lot of time to learn how to shoot since he had no GF.

It was a decent shot tbh for an amatuer. 150 yards and a moving target. Trump lucky he turned his head at just the right moment or it would have been in his ear.

The whole thing is crazy to me - how was someone allowed to get onto the roof of a nearby structure with a direct line of site onto the stage !?!?

No drones in the air monitoring ? I get you can never have enough bodies covering every inch of an outdoor scene like this - but drones should easily be able to supplement the coverage.

Secondly - how/why did he only get 8 shots off ? Agree - it’s not a simple shot, but not exactly an “expert level” either. Plenty of old timers who have taken down a deer at distances not much closer.

Modern weaponry has taken marksmanship out of the equation for these kids. Who cares if you can hit a target at 150 yards - when you got 20+ shots at it - between the sound of the first shot and your target instinctively reacting you can already empty the magazine. Close just isn’t for horseshoes and hand grenades when you have the firepower to spray your target.

And of course all the “what ifs” and conjecture- we still need to remember not only is 1 innocent citizen dead leaving a widow and parentless children - but also 2 critically injured. Over what - attending a political rally !! The thing our political system is built on - they died as a result of.

And before we start getting into a gun control debate - let’s not forget the nutcase who just killed John Hunt’s wife and daughter and another innocent victim with a freaking crossbow. Absolutely disgusting display - but you cannot eliminate mental illness - so suppressing weapons will never stop this behavior.

as anything is possible these days for those who think outside the box

But for those that are educated, they know this is bullshit ^^^^^.

Perhaps it's not he people's fault, after all we have Free Speech in this country.

But I think we can all blame the educations system for allowing so many adults to think that "anything is possible these days for those who think outside the box."

In an era where mis and dis information runs rampant, your post remains scary at best.

Maybe I should put it another way. Sure, anything really is possible when you think outside the box, but being possible, probable, and true are very different things.

How many times have we all seen the news in which a neighbor, friend, family member, or acquaintance turned out to be a murderer, pedophile, or terrorist, and those being interviewed tell us how shocked they are and never would have imagined it in a million years?

Things like that happen every single day

That’s why we have the FBI and CIA to dig deeper on cases that aren’t the norm

I’ve worked closely with the local PD for many years and I can tell you that ‘thinking outside the box’ is what separates a the good detectives from the ones who just goes through the motion

I guess it’s just a difference in opinion and we’re all entitled to them

No, there is no difference of opinion here.

It seemed to me that you were talking about the general public in the affinity for mis-information out there.

You’re actually talking about experts, and using the term “thinking out of the box” when, in actuality, that is the box for the expert.

Like you said the ones that don’t think out-of-the-box just go through emotion.

We we’re clearly talking about two very different things here.

thanks for clearing it up.
