It was bittersweet. It was actually a win because we were shaving points up in Boston. But ultimately a horrible loss because right after I told someone about it I got whacked

I've posted this on other boards but I'll repeat it here.

It must have been in 2006 when I was betting soccer. I had the over on the Chilean team Colo-Colo and their opponent and late in the 2nd half it was well over. Mind you, this was one of my biggest bets ever, over $1k which was big for me at the time.

A fan threw a battery on the field at the ref. The game was called and the bet was negated because the contest didn't go the required amount of minutes.

1998 Pitt vs jax mon night game. Pitt lines up to kick a fg to end the game. Any result is fine other than a jax td. Jax blocks the kick and instead of falling on it they pick it up and run it in for a td as time expired. They won by 9 i believe instead of 2. Pitt was +3. Its the game where Cowher stuck his foot out as the guy was running down the sideline because he was pissed. I had a nickel reverse. Instead of winning 2000, I lost 600. 2600 swing on a run back that meant nothing to the outcome for jax

The biggest loss of my sports betting career was the election with Clinton and Trump. I kept piling money on Clinton. When live betting opened the morning it kept moving I kept dumping money on Clinton. I didn’t think Trump would ever win. It was the biggest loss in my gambling career of 30 years. And I’m a Republican too. Just didn’t think Trump had a shot in hell. Still hurts.

They all blend in after awhile. Nothing is a surprise anymore.
I agree with this. Anytime I make a wager & I’m winning, I always know there is a way for it to lose. Nothing will surprise me these days in my betting career. So I don’t harp over it, & NEVER make excuses on why it happen, that’s loser talk.

Sometimes we get exceptionally lucky & win these games we are suppose to lose. So this shit goes both ways. Sadly most gamblers only remember the loses.

Technically not a loss. More of a blown opportunity:

I decided to take a job about a year ago, after being retired for about 7 years. April 2022, I’m playing Keeneland, playing a handful of my usual trainers. About 10 minutes to post in race 2, I realize there was a cheap opportunity to play a pick three involving two of my favorite trainers down there, Vicky Oliver and Rusty Arnold. So I’m about to bookend them in the Pick 3 with ALL in the middle….
Lo and behold, the only person that I answer to in the place stops by my office to chat. Another meat head joins in. They are there for about 20 minutes, and I can’t get my bet in.…..a bet that would only cost $12.
Oliver wins Race 4 at 12-1.
Some no name trainer wins race 5 at 78-1, in the race I would’ve had ALL in…
Arnold wins Race 6 at 17-1. All horses win rather easily.
Pick 3 comes back at $19,000 for a buck.😩😭😫
Now, I understand it would’ve paid a little less if I played, since it would of been one more share of the pool. But woulda, shoulda, coulda been a beautiful score at a $12 risk.
