That's wild. I average ~15k steps per day, workout 3-4 days per week with an average burn of 550 calories per workout and can't lose weight. I rarely eat fast food, cook at home, and don't consume a large amount of sugar but it's still a challenge to get below 200. I have charted my food although not to the exacting standards of KVB but to no avail. I do have a lot of muscle mass but it's perplexing.
Jake, have you checked your blood sugar. I've heard of a similar issue with a friend and he had some blood sugar issues that limited hi ability to lose weight. He modified his diet somehow and then slowly lost weight.

I don't understand it all, just relating a similar story.

Not on a low fat or low natural sugar diet, by any means, but I am on a low saturated fat and added sugar diet...

USDA recommends saturated fight to be 6% or less and added suger to be 10% or less. That is very difficult to achieve if you eat any food from a store, lol.

Your seeing a very diverse diet with very few processed foods, very few.
Wow. 137 lbs. I can see why you are super-focused on food/exercise to gain weight.

Out of curiosity do you apply variance to your daily percentages? That could be a factor and could improve things.
He should, that's actually what I was going to type in last night.

The USDA & FDA labels need only be within 20% of the expected calorie count. Always remember that.

Also, I've got a theory about the actual caloric impact of beer. I honestly do not see how the body accumulates all 120 calories per beer when there's such a process involved in converting to vinegar & then braking down the alcohol.

I wonder if the net impact is maybe 50% of the label...but for health reasons no one publishes research.

All calories are not created equal.

I agree. Charts are just the facts of what i've been doing, and those recommendations for things like sugar and saturated fats depend on the individual and their risk factors for sure.

I could probably eat In n out burgers every day and have no health issues.

And you're right, all calories are not created equal. But mine come from solid sources.

Yes I check blood sugar a few times a year, a1c 1x per year. All of my blood work is normal save for slightly elevated cholesterol which is likely genetic and not related to my diet.

I would definitely follow up with a doctor. One cause of malabsorption is autoimmune disease I learned recently.

USDA sugar recommendations are a joke. 40 pounds per year. Are you doing fasted exercise? I quit weed for a month and went from 138 to 152 in less than 3 weeks upon returning.

There are comprehensive blood testing options out there that test beyond the standard blood tests for good prices supposedly. Might be something you're interested in. Function health tests over 100+ biomarkers.
