My wife would tell you not to take financial advice from me, but my two cents would definitely be to steer you away from the reverse mortgage thing, too many variables that could cause you to lose your home if something unexpected happen, jmo
I've read where you have to be careful about them, yes. My neighbors have one and they are happy with theirs.
I live in a state that has the 2nd highest job growth in the US. In addition to that, we have a lot of people moving in. For some reason, builders aren't building enough for all those people so I feel I am in a good position for my real estate investments to do well in the next 20 - 25 years.

The “old heads” of this forum showing up with great experience and advice, as a 40-year-old man myself I appreciate this thread extremely.
Old heads? I still have my Social Media going:

Also remember you can take your Social security at 62 but you don’t get Medicare health insurance until 65 .
The longer you put off taking Social Security the more you get per month. I still have my health and I still have my energy, but I can tell already I don't have the energy I used to have.
It's starting to get to be more than just the money though. It's having to deal with all the dumb BS and stress at work. I think I would like to take 6 months to a year off and then go back for more.

I retired from one career 10 years ago. Working on Pension #2 now. Don’t know your age, but if you still feel energetic and have good qualifications, I say definitely pursue something new.
I was lucky to retire at an early age, so I looked for new opportunities in more interesting, less serious fields.
Like I replied to Leisure, I still feel energetic, just not like I did before. It's not energy that keeps me thinking about retirement. It's all the BS dealing with work. In addition to this, it's being able to do what I want. I have a lot of stuff I still want to do while I have the energy to do it.
