I couldn't stand that stuff. My dumbass doctor prescribed that for me because my blood pressure was climbing up. Anti-depressants calm you down. It was good to be mellow but the side-effects were dangerous.

I'll never forget I was walking down a hall at work and half of my body went limp for a second. I gathered myself and thought I may have had a stroke. I regained my balance.

I later went on forums to see if it was the Lexapro. Many others had this experience. I quit taking it right away. Can you imagine someone on that crap holding a baby? Or perhaps someone driving on a curve and blacking out just enough to drive into oncoming traffic?

Now I know my doctor could have prescribed me a simple water pill to help with my barely elevated blood pressure. Instead, she prescribes me that crap. I never went back to her after that.
I'm glad nothing serious happened to you QL. But damn! that's so scary!

I've not heard this. So if you're 60, 160/89 is OK? That seems high.
I'm not 60, but I'm curious about this rule of thumb. Thanks.

They lowered the number so they could sell more drugs. Blood pressure and cholesterol are different among individuals. Unless they are sky high or your feeling abnormal they are probably fine. Not to mention blood pressure elevates if someone feels uncomfortable or agitated like when they visit their doctor.

That makes sense.

that's high Tanko, Dr. once told me long as the bottom number is 80 or lower you're ok.
My last wellness check up I was 155 / 75. Now on meds to get the top below 140.
Meds have me around 130 / 70.

From my personal experience, of , oh who knows who many different ones i've tried.
INCluding natural St. John's Wort.

Now, i understand, its a hit / miss based on a person's brain chemistry,
not to mention their state of mind. if they convinced themselves, they have a disorder or w/e.

But to me, all it did was Kill off Libido, depression, drive along with everything else.
made me numb, like a robot. sure i wasnt depressed, but i couldnt feel anything else either.

I personally would NOT recommend them, unless as a LAST resort,
if its getting to a point u cant take it anymore - which WILL lead to suicidal thoughts.
so its either medication or ur life. u choose.

Still wouldnt recommend. I'd suggest healthier alternatives, sunlight, diet, exercise,
esp. change of scenery , simply going on a road trip / trip to somewhere for a few days, helps.

look at YT videos on personal development and stuff.

Sadhguru, Alan watts, Julienhimself.....

u basically have to manage ur INNER self first, before u try to manage everything else EXTERNAL, which is not really in ur control anyways. That knowledge alone will set u free.

Happiness is overrated.
Now, being at peace with oneself, content, and practicing GRATIDUDE r more realistic goals.

GL to all that r in the constant downs,
I will leave u guys with 1 simple exercise , which will INSTANTLY make u feel better,
whenever ur in the down,
immediately name 5 things ur grateful for...

legs ? u have frikking legs,
dik ? u have a fkking dik
food to eat ? shelter ? internet ? etc. etc. could be anything.

u will instantly feel atleast 1 % better.

sorry for the long posts ^^

but it is definitely warranted... mental illness/ depression is a serious issue, that if left "untreated" by self / meds... can most def. put u & keep u in hell. and it only keeps getting worse, with all the bottled up feelings.

whoever says, "oh its just a chemical problem in ur brain" is a fkking numbskull and the biggest scam ever. ur not born that way. society/ environment shaped u that way. if u continue to think/ behave in ways, ur conditioned to along with poor diet/exercise/self-talk etc. is the ROOT cause of this so called "chemical imbalance"

I would also urge, any1 else going thru chronic depression, not ur "just having a bad day" thing,
to look up CBT - cognitive behavior therapy.

to sum it up,

Sunshine
Exercise
Diet
Socializing
GRATITUDE - this is huge.
some sort of self help/ therapy like CBT.

Works wonders for me and I'm not even depressed (that I know of).
