ACC has to do something. They are in a really bad spot now.

They have a TV contract through 2036 which pays way less than the Big10 and SEC schools are getting. FSU is already complaining about their revenue sharing plan.

Although it is an elite B-ball conference, I can't see FSU and Clemson staying put.
If enough ACC teams want out can't they break the GOR/exit terms? 2036 is so far away.

I think there is a humongous buyout requirement....
I think it says 3X annual school revenue. For FSU $120M
So would FSU and/or Clemson leave for an additional $15-20M/yr from SEC?
It would take 6-7 years to get to breakeven.

I think they should start a go-fund-me page.:ROFLMAO:

...Any word on the Pac 10 12 4 trying to replenish with some other, maybe WAC, teams?

Pac 4 turned out to be the final number for today. Zona, Zona St and Utah to the Big 12.

Currently, the Pac 12 will have Oregon St, Washington St, Cal and Stanford for the 2024 season.

Just those 4 teams and we know Cal and Stanford have been in talks already with the Big 10, but not sure where that is going.

Now we have 4 major conferences.
Sad to say PAC-12 will likely look like a group of 5 conference regardless of who they add.

Since Stanford alumni saved their athletic department after COVID shut down football it's speculated that Stanford might just go independent.

Clearly the Pac can't stay like it is in 2024 and maybe the Mt. West, or some thing WAC like, takes over, or gets absorbed. Mt. West has been researching and preparing for this day.

Who knows, but apparently the Apple+ sreaming deal, which had some kind of high ceiling and incentives didn't have a high enough starting floor.

Oregon and Wash taking just more than half of what USC and UCLA will get in their Big 10 contracts, but those can grow, I believe, in ensuing years.

I think the Mt. West schools each have like a 30 million dollar buyout so if Pac wanted to pilfer the conference to replenish their own rank, it's going to cost too much.

The Pac could be in trouble all around.

Seriously, there a shit ton of Stanford athletes alone, across many sports, that literally have nobody to compete against in 2024.

I smell a Notre Dame style indepedent move for the Cardinal.
