I had an issue, for the first time, with a pain med shortage and I did some research. This is why I know a little about the shortage.

Luckly, there was an alternate med for me, but I am stockpiling these as best I can as even the alternate could eventually run out.
I’m glad you are able to get the proper relief from your meds. I am curious to know what alternative medicine you found for pain ? If you don’t mind me asking.

Most of the opiates will come in different milligrams and acetaminophen (tylenol) but the manufacturers cut out 30, 20, 15, and 5 mg dosgages leaving the one I am prescribed, the 10mg with acetaminophen.

That means all these other patients with other doses are now getting those 10 mg prescriptions, so there's pressure on that supply.

This has been happening for a long time but I never felt the shortage at my pharmacy and in california.

My pharmacy had the same 10mg oxy pill without the acetaminophen. So my doctor quickly switched to that and I can just take tylenol (or generic) with it to get the same med.

An alternative, but actually the same dose and opiate I was getting before.

WIll be having a couple of neck procedures coming up and they recognize I will need these meds for that.

I don't take them that often, as I mix in healthier options, but they have been helpful. I usually take pain meds when that RF wears off and I need to burn the nerves again. After burning the, I tend to quit those meds until I need them again months later.

It's an off an on thing for me, but the timing of the shortage scared me a bit as I will need them in the next couple of months, unfortunately.

I feel for others who need them more regularly and even daily just to move around.

They are getting screwed by war on opiates, which is so misplaced. The DEA put pressure on manufacturers to produce less opiate.

Other than an occasional shady doctor's pill mill, It's the illegal fent laced shit that's really killing people, not these prescriptions. It's the illegal shit that's everywhere.

Yet those of us who take it responsibly and need it end up paying the price.

That pisses me off, not just for me, but for so many others in a more dire situation that need it too.

My g/f’s dad the guy I mentioned earlier is taking up to four 20 mg pills of morphine a day for his pain. I’m sure his tolerance is becoming a problem, but at this point it really doesn’t matter.

Yeah, that's tough especially with the backdrop of his reality.

Such a bitch of a situation. I feel for you guys and what you are going through, all of you in his circle.

I can't even imagine what some people go through if they have a lot of pain and can't get their meds. I had some gum surgery a couple times in the past and the oral surgeon prescribed Vicodin. I didn't use it because Advil and Aleve took care of any pain. But I kept the Vicodin just in case.

Well, a couple years ago I had crippling bursitis in my right hip. When I say "crippling", I mean I had to walk with a walker. I was OK if just sitting but at night about halfway through the night the pain was unbearable so I took half a Vicodin.

I had some cabinet work done shortly after that and one of the workers told me about the pain he had. He said if he doesn't get help eventually he's going to put a bullet in his head. I don't know if he was serious but I can see how desperate some people are and wouldn't want to live with constant crippling pain. I was lucky my bursitis healed on its own after a couple months.

@maltedhopsfrenzy check in.

What's for dinner these days? I'm eating better than I have in years, or at least since I can remember, as Imade a small change in life and it's been life changing.

This one's for @Nate Rasta ...

Sorry Guys - Been M.I.A. for a minute, with vacations, busy work, etc.
But, college & pro football kicking back in, so I’m going to be needing some sound wagering advice. Tonite is grilled chicken fajitas with a side of some Chile Frijoles. Wifey wanted zucchini with hers (yeah, I don’t get it either), so we grilled up some taco seasoned on the side.

Good Luck ‘Eye Candy’ Crew!!!!! You’re all a good group of guys, I’ll try to post more here other than just food…..

lol, I'm no expert.

I posted what I found, but I don't have to be totally right. I'm thinking any clinic that is free to some addict is probably being paid by somebody, a charity or the gov't insurance.

Different topic but when it comes to the chemo drugs, sadly, it is part of an ongoing national shortage of meds. Pain meds getting on those lists too.

That's so wild to think about and I feel for anyone in those shoes right now, and there are many.

I am. @JDS

in short, ANY rehab replacement opioid is a pharmaceutical scam. esp. methadone.
there is a reason why its free/costs next to nothing :an_light:

If any1 is suffering from addiction of ANY sorts, I would highly suggest to reach out to me first.
this is regarding "medication assisted" addiction recovery only, before one does anything stupid.
Fully confidential.

Maybe I should make a PSA thread on this.

I can also provide valuable first-hand insight on this as well, in particular.

Even if its say for example: television in the broad sense (YT, tiktok, porn) etc.
and u simply, cannot help urself and tried various other means already,
Can provide a highly unconventional route for that as well. - which simply works.
