I have not lived in America in 10 years but I go back once or twice a year. As I mentioned earlier there are places in China and Vietnam that refuse to take cash, more in China, lots of restaurants and cafes, stores, will not take cash, they use Wechat and Alipay, most still take cash but there are a lot that don't. Are there places in America that refuse to take cash?
I have yet to go to a place out here that has refused my cash

I have.

High school sporting events. No ticket, no cash just scan the qr code at the door and pay with your phone. They assume everyone has a phone, but they don't exactly turn you away if you can't navigate it, like older people.

It's a little weird though, there is nobody to give any money to, no cash box. Just a guy checking the phone to see a ticket.

My ATM machine only spits out 20’s & 50’s maybe it’s a Biden inflation thing who the f*** knows.
In Cambodia they use their own currency as well as USD, the ATM's there if you choose to withdraw USD only dispense $100 bills. The banks, gold shops ( where you do money exchanges ) refuse to take $2 bills. If you pay with a $100 bill at a girly bar it is a 50% chance they come back and tell you they won't accept it, its fake and switch the bill, keep your bill and give you a fake. Cambodia is nuts, but I love it there, headed these for the SEA games next weekend!

This just happened to a guy I know, he posted this, regarding Cambodia
Hello everyone,

I’m new on here,I was told this place is the best place to comment about my experience in Cambodia.
April 21st , 2023
So I visited some riverside bars and came across intoxica bar on street 130.
What attracted me to the bar was of course the beautiful girls sitting outside waving over to go in.
I was with 2 other male friends.
We decided to go inside was so busy and dark we decided to sit on a table outside.
3 girls came and sat with us and we began to chat and all drink together.
The evening was going really well so we stayed for a few hours and got some food delivered to us from a place across the street.
I asked for the bill,it came to $67 for my drinks and the girl and food.
Thought that was reasonable.
I gave them a $100 dollar bill she went into the bar to pay then came back to the table to say it’s fake!
I freaked out but luckily I had extra money to pay.
I left the bar and was really pissed off and went back to my hotel.
Next day I was thinking over it.
I thought I only changed the money that day and got $300
I checked it all,
So I thought it must of been a scam at the bar
(Of course I wasn’t thinking straight as I’d had a lot to drink)
She didn’t check the note in front of me went into the bar then came out.
I looked at reviews on that place.
I saw it happened to someone else.
And other bad things happen there.
There have been 14 stabbings on this street the last month inside the different bars.
So I decided to go back to the bar and talk with the owner.
I had proof of my time there as I did some pictures and videos.
If it was my business I would want customer feed back,
And put things right if a customer wasn’t happy.
I asked if I could look at the cctv around 00.30
What a surprise the owner said it’s not working
She really didn’t seem bothered so I think it’s my duty to share this experience so it doesn’t happen to anyone else.
Please avoid this bar and watch out at other bars around riverside.
Check the notes with the person taking your money maybe even show them you take a photo of the note before they go to the cashier so you have the serial number so it can’t be exchanged for a fake one.

The main reason why you shouldn't use a $100 bill in all your transactions. Make a hobby to use lower bills like $20 if you want to pay in cash.

Well it’s a poor country

can’t blame them for trying

😝

but yes you need to be on your toes and not allow your little head to do the thinking for you
I go there with $300 in dollar bills, haha it's funny, because I get them from the gold shops here , I walk around with a huge wad in my pocket , the little tuk tuk's cost $1-3, I rather use USD because I hate converting their money in my head, haha

That is my hangout street, I am a regular there. There are tons of bars in that area, Some of them are owned by Australian retirees there. It is a fun place to go but pretty sketchy. I will be there before and after the Vietnam Lao game on the 30th! Can't wait, the place is awesome!
