I get my steps in every day ,
I hang in my Granpa shed…

Figure it’s 20 feet from my back door to the shed… I make this journey multiple times a day as I’m in my 60’s, and tend to empty my kidneys several times a day ….

Defense, I thought you are just in your 40's. You are doing the right thing and stay healthy! :cheers:

I've been walking multiple times per week since August of 1989. At first it was 3 to 4 times per week. The last few years it's only been 2 to 3 times per week.

Since I've been getting fewer steps I've decided to get more by using a trick. Instead of parking as close to the door of the supermarket or doctor's/dentist's office or restaurant, I'll park far away in the parking lot.

I think the best part is not having to navigate my vehicle into a tight parking space. I just park out where no other vehicles are.

I do the same exact thing at the supermarket or stores when I’m shopping. Since I live in South Florida, and it’s primarily hot all the time I like to find a parking spot with shade, and that is far away from the building to help get my daily steps in.

Unless you're in a job that you're on your feet most of the day, getting to 10k/day requires additional work. i.e. walk/job a couple miles outside of the job.


I've read the new "target" is at least 6k/day to stay healthy. More if you want to get healthier.

Fortunately, we have a treadmill in the garage so I can watch games while I jog. Goes by quick.
