James Franklin coaches today in a big game v USC.

He already complained about traveling all the way to California. Big Ten teams are 1-4 this season when having to travel 2+ time zones.

It feels like he's laying the groundwork for excuses if they lose today. I think this game is going to be really tight all the way to the end.

I don't see a Penn State win here. I see another big game loss by Franklin.

They are on paper the better team for sure.

What bothers me is USC is coming off a loss and they're gonna be fired up.

Comes down to who wins the line of scrimmage.

USC can’t stop the run. They are not B1G ready on run defense. Penn State has too much choke in them even though they have most personnel advantages except home field. The travel could be a huge factor. None of the long distance traveling teams have even covered this season except one in the conference.

Yes I know. Big Ten teams are 1-4 this season when traveling 2+ time zones.

PSU biggest advantage this game is the run game. If they can win the line battle and run most of the game, that's their biggest advantage.

But again, USC will be fired up after a loss and looking to attack PSU secondary.

Think this will be very close until the end.

This game is not going PSU's way. Stopped USC first possession of the game, went right down the field on our first possession and got a touchdown called back for illegal blocking and had to settle for a field.goal.
