So is your car, knife, cell phone, liquor, weed, and every kind of medication you have in your house. Why do you think the only thing they are determined to take is your second amendment right?

How many years has this been a claim? 30 - 40 - 50? maybe more
liberals presidents have had super majorities over all those years. how many time did they pass a bill to take guns away? how many times have they used that majority to try and take guns away? \
So you think Kamala Harris has the best interest for you and your family in mind? It is your decision to never have a gun in your house or associate with people who do and believe or not I actually agree with you if there are young children or teenagers in the house but the difference is it is your decision not mine or the governments.

I think that is the part of this we can all agree on. But it shouldn't be a "decision" to have weapons stored unsafely that is just plain dangerous and idiotic.
You have to obey the speed limit, why? Is that not an infringement on your rights? No of course not because of safety reasons. So it's the law - so why would it be such a horrible thing to have a law that says u have to store your legally owned weapons properly?
I am much a Second Amendment rights lover as the next gun owner. But I am not against gun owners having some responsibility in making sure those guns are safely stored.
Thanks for the debate guys, even though no opinions would ever be changed here it gets that little debate itch out of the way. sadly I do get that little itch now and again.
and in a nice decent atmosphere where we aren't trying to kill each other or wish each other sure death
And FWIW - I don’t see anyone in here suggesting that we either ban firearms.
I’m a member of the CMP - a group that is fully dedicated to promoting marksmanship and gun safety. As much as I support the NRA - I also have learned for example to seperate the parts of that group I support (responsible and safe ownership and promoting gun sports) from the politics. To me they are like the AARP - more concerned with boosting membership numbers to push their political clout and less concerned at times with actually serving the NEEDS of their members. CMP also can offer some decent deals on surplus rifles from time to time.
