Kentucky can’t be trusted in the NCAA tournament anymore.
Not at least until Calipari is gone. He needs to retire but unfortunately I think his ego is too big for that. You can't win doing things the way he does them anymore with mostly freshman because every team builds either with 2-3 year players that they recruit or transfers. It's always 18-19 year old boys against 24 year old men and Cal refuses to change his philosophy. That's my biggest criticism of him is that he is stubborn both with his in game coaching and recruiting philosophy. He needs to do the right thing and step down but the question is will he or will he still be at Kentucky next year? If he is then yes I'd say even I won't be picking Kentucky to go very far because it'll be more of the same.

The scary part is that Kentucky is not winning regular season, conference or national championships anymore yet still treated like royalty.

Kentucky will always be a blueblood program imo because they've always had a long tradition of winning. I do feel it's time for a change of coaches though because its clear that the changing landscape of college basketball with NIL and kids transferring in the transfer portal has rendered the One and Done era dead in college basketball. You just can't win doing things the way Calipari does them with one and done freshman anymore because you inevitably go against veteran teams in March where that experience factor comes into play. I think Kentucky needs a new coach who both can recruit but has shown the ability to win in this new era of college basketball.

I can agree with that. Remember Nebraska was a football blueblood not long ago and we are still acting like they are 25 years later and that is no longer the case because they keep doing things the way they have always done it no matter the results. Kentucky keeps getting overseeded because of that tradition. They never played like a top 10 more than a couple of games at any time this year yet were seeded like a top 10 team. Calipari isnt going anywhere anytime soon. He has the easiest job in college basketball. Get the best young players, and try to win more games than the teams who have a more stable roster and see where the chips may fall. He is customizing his players while his opponents have an assembly line.

I wouldn't be so sure that Calipari isn't going anywhere anytime soon. The fans won't stand for this. Most Kentucky fans are fed up with Cal now and may force him out. There's a lot of rumblings out there that he's coached his last game at Kentucky.
