Dead Heat Rule

For golf wagers containing more than two participants (3 balls or groups) where two or more players tie for the same place the dead heat rule is applied as follows:

The wager is reduced according to how many players tie and is then applied to the full odds with the remainder of the stake deemed as lost.

For example:

• You wager $100 at odds of +200 and 2 players tie for the same position.
  Half the stake is lost (-$50).
  The other half wins and is paid the same odds. So it wins $50 at +200
• If 3 players tie for the same position then:
  Two thirds of the stake is lost (-$66.66)
  The remaining third win $33.33

Yeah, I talked about that a couple of weeks ago.

Different houses will have different rules. Some will decrease the payout odds, some will decrease the stake. BetMGM pays full amount even with a dead heat but their odds are a bit shorter because of it.

DK uses a bet reduction rule, decreasing the stake. It's probably the best rule, outside of full payment for ties.

In almost all cases, the math works out that you would rather have your stake reduced, not the odds.

Seems like it but in the end it will be like the vast majority of PGA courses, including this course.

Driving distance will be more predictive of tourney success that any other metric.

Driving accuracy is not as important but the approach and iron play figures to be right up there this weekend.

Rory has the edge in distance and the rest of the game. Hence a reason he had to be bought.

DK adding +300 to the Rory +650 was pretty sweet bonus/boost.
