Years back, Shug would run his good 2 year olds here WITHOUT Lasix. Now, no one’s allowed to use Lasix so it kind of evens the field for honest Shug vs the juicers. Otherwise, Shug’s 2 year olds couldn’t compete. Square price.

Interesting move by my guy Abreu. 2 year old Florida-bred makes its debut a few weeks ago at Gulf, doesn’t run very well. Figure Abreu would leave the Florida-bred in Florida to get a win under whatever state-bred programs they run. Sounds logical. Instead, Abreu ships the 2-year-old up to Saratoga, to face the world’s toughest 2 year-olds, on the toughest undercard to win in, vs open company. Seems to me that Abreu thinks this horse can run. Will be interesting to see if the horse takes money…
