You’re kinda making my point with these test scores, which I coincidentally mentioned earlier in the thread

Blacks and Hispanics both score significantly lower on these tests, but the gaps have nothing to do with innate ability or intellectual capacity. SAT performance is linked to economic status more than anything, as wealthier people have a major advantage in prepping for these exams. That’s why these tests are being eliminated and redone as we speak…:.to try and make it more fair for everyone who doesn’t have the resources to do better

This isn’t just my opinion, this is well-known in the education industry. Funny how you mention the gap in test scores, but completely ignore the REASONS for the gap

You thinking that these scores shows that one race is inherently intellectually superior to another is blatantly racist. No race is intellectually superior to another

It all starts as a kid with having parents who care, if your parents take the time to raise you right, regardless of race your odds of not becoming a jailbird and doing well in school are going to be much better. There are way to many single moms out there collecting welfare and living off the government because the Dad is unknown or they don’t lock the Dad up for not paying child support.

Every kid deserves loving parents who are present for them. It’s heartbreaking to see that not be the case

I get along with minny and do a podcast with him. I think many of his comments are out of line and misguided but don’t feel the need to call them all out. I’ve done that with him many times. His mind won’t change and neither will mine, so I kinda gave up debating him on race and political issues. We see nothing the same way. We should try to lower the temperature in here I’m thinking. A weird world where Vitterd is being a peacemaker

So you think a kid who has cheap internet access has equal chance to do as well as a kid who has thousands of dollars to pour into test prep, tutoring, etc ?

Obviously there are cases where kids do overcome these adverse circumstances, but on average the kid with the resources is way more likely to succeed. This is not something that is debated and is well accepted by people who make these exams. It’s not controversial lol

The College Board (the company that makes the SAT) and other organizations have literally said that the inequity is the reason the system is changing

If there was no issue with it, then why are they making eliminating these tests as we know it?

Unfortunately, Harvard debunked that theory w their substantial K- 3rd grade study that concluded black children ENTER SCHOOL substantially behind their peers.

I don't know a single kindergarten child that tutored or studied hard lol...they either put their toys away or they dont...they either create projects w the paste or they eat it...
