until recently 260ish

Today was 277 - obviously concerning adding a decent amount of weight with no dietary changes - makes me think water weight added as a result of something going on.

Like I said - I make no excuses - my diet/lifestyle sucked. Years of putting work first - fast food and eating on the road.

2 years ago made the decision to take a permanent WFH job - at first regretted it - wanted to go back to working outside - climbing around on roofs and going on the road - wasn’t much more money (actually made less) - but enjoyed the people I worked with and it was a lifestyle. Turns out may have been best move I made - what if this happened when I was somewhere on a roof or in some strange city overnighting in a motel room.

Like I said - it just freaking sucks. Sucks seeing what it does to others and sucks having to be in a hospital again in my life. Just got through a period where it feels like I was in one every week for 5 years with my parents - hoped to never see one again.
We hope you are cleared of no major medical conditions, keep us updated and get back on that health train, thanks for sharing what you are currently going through.

"So hate making a post like this so shortly after what happened with CK -"

Are you kidding? This is the best time to talk about this. It helps other people wake TF up.

Look at it this way. You beat a heart attack. You now have a second chance to get things back in your lane and live a long and healthy life.

Let us know how things turn out.

Glad the spirit in which it is intended came through - as that’s exactly why I posted.

Let’s be honest - this isn’t a “young” crowd overall - and as much as you like to think you’re “young” it creeps up fast. Feels like yesterday I was 30 - broke AF and living the single life. Didn’t matter what I did and my actions just affected me. Sometimes that mindset stays around after things change. It did for me and it shouldn’t have.

I’ll share updates as I can.

So shortly after what happened with CK - but I think it’s a good reminder for everyone here not to f*** around with your health.

Basically had some minor chest pains and shortness of breath when doing anything physical. Admittedly I’m not in what you’d call “good” physical condition - but not this bad ever either. Talking winded climbing steps from basement to first floor of the house.

So instead of doing what I should have done (went to an ER immediately) - I pissed around and waited. Finally said I should see my Dr a few days later after no noticeable change. Went to Dr at noon today and was in ER at 1p after EKG showed a heart attack.

Likely heart cath tomorrow and hope nothing serious or lasting damage. Fingers crossed - but all I can say is this is not fun to deal with at age 50.

Time for some changes obviously - but just want to share in case any of you knuckleheads thought like me you’re too young or it’s no big deal. Hopefully out Saturday if all is well. Just take care of yourselves and remember plenty of people are counting on you.
So sorry to hear this DJ! Try to feel better and hopefully, everything goes well.

So not good unfortunately 100% blockage

no stent - need to go to bigger hospital where open heart is available.

It may not be that - might be able to do angioplasty-but at least need access to that in case they attempt and it doesn’t work

keep my wife in your thoughts please
Of course!

The sooner you do the surgery, the better.

Hope all goes well. I have a rare condition (Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension or PAH) that I have to have RHC (Right Heart Cath) on a regular basis. I'm due one now. There is no cure, yet.

As far as, young age goes, my grandfather drop dead at 36 of a heart attack, so it can happen very young, My dad 61.
Anyway, you will be in our thoughts and prayers.

Yea - it’s not certain they will want to do bypass - but as a betting mine I’d go that route most likely based on age / condition.

just sucks - but going over list of friends/relatives I’ve lost before age 55 - it’s eye opening. Man you never think it will be you. Making out a will wasn’t top of my weekend chores until now.

BTW the thing today piece of cake - 45 minutes - no pain.
