Here's where a person has to use their head and not be so automatic about this system. During the summer there are a lot of clubs who have time off so they have Club Friendlies with other teams to keep loosened up. I'm getting the idea on these big spreads and big totals that it's not always wise to follow the steam. The reason being is that when a team is having a "friendly" match, they don't always go all out.

One example is Slavia Praha today. They have an Asian Handicap of -4 and it fits the steam criteria. I'm not going to bet this even though it fits. Again, I don't know if the team will put in enough effort to cover this large spread. I've seen too many teams get out in from 2-0 and sit back and enjoy the rest of the match.

where do you get your steam plays?a

Mostly from OddsPortal in their "Dropping Odds" link. It lists dropping odds for matches a few days out so there's a lot to go through so I do a search for the current hour. So if it's 9am, I search for "10:" to search for matches coming up within the next hour.

That search criteria also lists games in future dates that start during the 10 o'clock hour as well so one has to be careful to find the ones just for today. I like to bet just before gametime since sometimes odds will reverse themselves.. I've done a search and bet on a game that didn't take place until a few days out so there is that to be careful of.

Looks like I overthought that bet. Slavia Praha wins 7-0.

I don't usually play these matches in the Asian countries because of the time zone but this one has me bewildered. Pinnacle has -128 to -237 for -1/2 but other books have it as a much better line. Hmmm.

I decided to go with the -1/2 at -145 instead of -1 -103. There's a big difference in winning by 1 goal for the first bet to win and winning by 2 goals as would be necessary to win the bet at -1.
