Big 12 was sitting on Arizona and Arizona State because they knew this was going to happen. All the teams will be scarfed up by Big 10 and Big 12. Washington State and Oregon State are in some trouble but might make the Big 12 because they are good partners for BYU which is the Big 12 big money maker now.

With the USC/UCLA move, I see Big 12 expanding to 16 teams with Pac12 leftovers as well.
But, the Pac12 may try to reverse the play and steal some Big 12 teams. This will be interesting to see how it plays out.

I'm guessing Oregon, Washington, Stanford and Cal go to Big 10.

Arizona schools, Colorado, Utah go to Big 12.

Washington State and Oregon probably wind up in Big 12 but might be Mountain West.

I think Big 12 might also add USF and Memphis to round out the East portion of their conference and then you have four five team divisions that set up really well for BYU and the Texas schools for travel.

You are right though the PAC-12 could siphon some of these leftovers to fill in their conference.

The only remaining prize after this is Notre Dame. They can do whatever they want.
I can't see ND football joining a conference. They make bank as an independent with their own TV contract with NBC. Why would they join a conference and then have to split any TV money?

They'll always be in the discussion for playoffs even without a conference. I see no driver for them to change right now.

I could see them wanting to get in the Big 10 because they are going to be out of the financial pool. They are already struggling to keep up with them. They can call their own shots. I think they are hooked up with the ACC for a while though. They probably wind up there eventually.

ACC could be left out in the cold soon.

They have Clemson, FSU, and NC is coming up with better teams. Other than that, is there much to cherry pick from? Miami has really fallen off since 1990s. They only have 1 season with double digit wins since 2003 in a relatively weeker conference.

Power 5 Conferences
SEC --> Power Conf expanding
Big10 --> Power Conf expanding
Big12 --> Upper Level Major Conf expanding
Pac12 ???
ACC - No expansion announced.

We'll likely end up with 3 maybe 4 Conferences that are above mid-major (Group of 5) level.
Anyone see it differently?

ACC is pretty much set. Nothing really changes except the schedules. The ACC is still going to be what it was before. It does not have anywhere to go. The Big 12 drops off a bit but will still be able to compete. Cincinnati, Houston and UCF are going to become Top 25 programs on a yearly basis. That makes up for some of the dropoff with UT and OU.

All that is really changing is the television deals. They don't pay the players yet so you are going to see huge amounts of transfers out of the major schools to the Big 12 so they will get talent they could never get before.
