It largely depends on what you're going to be doing with it. Basic internet browsing, email, watching porn that's all fine and good on a basic phone. If you're doing a job like mine where I'm constantly on the phone between the forum and Uber/Lyft I need a somewhat powerful phone

most cases u buy tech, that is 2-3 generations older.

Apple :

If u really care about a good camera/sleek interface - but theres also competition.
most ppl, once they go apple, they never turn back .. eventually become fanbois.


Android :

Ever-improving, excellent selection of budget phones.
Usally A lot more control than iOS.
If ur into jail-breaking for full control, this is the way to go.

My buddy who’s a tech genius said the key to iPhone is not to do all the updates. Definitely slows it down, kills the charge, etc.

since I took off auto update it definitely helped

This phone was around 3 years old when battery life became very erratic and messages would pop up that the battery had experienced a serious internal fault.

I replaced the battery with a cheap knock off. Lasted about 2 years. Repeat. This one seems to be lasting longer, still good.

Oh wow! I didn't know this, Hunch. I thought iPhone batteries couldn't be changed. Do I need to have AppleCare to do this?

You can buy replacement batteries on ebay. Comes with a kit that contains the tools to take the phone apart and DIY.
