We are all here for sports and gambling but this thread really shows how different people are as far as music goes. I can't even fathom listening to most bands / artists that have been named here. But we like what we like, God Bless!

You've changed Fly. The living in SEA has modified your mind and caused you to drift from what US mainstream likes. :)

Got to honest here (sorry KR if you love this guy) but Bob Dylan s u c ks...
I really dislike his music and he mumbles when he sings. It was horrible.

James Taylor and Bob Dylan - two musicians I will always skip over. Well, and Vanilla Ice.
I do not like any bands that have been mentioned in this thread but the one I mentioned. I wouldn't go see the Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd if they played in my backyard.

I probably mentioned this before. Never cared for Dylan much until I saw him in concert in late 70s I would guess. It was the best concert I have ever been to and I have been to plenty. He was at his peak no doubt at that time.
That being said I like Dylan overall but he is far from one of my favorites. He has a lousy voice but he is a great wordsmith or poet.

I mean, Rage Against The Machine is a great band in that genre, look at Audioslave - it was basically ‘Rage’ with Chris Cornell, even better. Another sleeper - Duran Duran. Laugh all you want, but every member of that band I believe is like classically trained & Simon LeBon could hit the high notes…..
U2 another band not yet mentioned yet I don’t believe.

Bob Dylan quote:

Even adding: “Everything that came after them, metal, rap, punk, new wave, pop-rock, you name it… you can trace it all back to The Rolling Stones. They were the first and the last and no one’s ever done it better.”

ARGUMENT OVER.

Agree - but more to life than sports.

Music is of course a varied taste.

The thing is as with most topics is to seek a commonality. Plenty of bands who venture away from what makes them famous to work with others outside of their genre. I respect that more than anything. I mean AC/DC is good and all - but at a point you need to do more than the same 3 chords and same 11 songs every album - even if your damn good at doing those things and selling a ton of records and merch.

Way too many people are scared of trying and failing - embrace the failure - it’s how we learn and grow.
