I'm going with Greece to win and cover in the early game against Spain. Again I'm looking to fade Spain because I don't think they're nearly as talented as some of these other teams and I have to say I was impressed with what I saw from Greece in their opening game loss against Canada. I think Giannis and company will get it done here against a team I feel they're better than.

For my second play I'm taking a shot with the underdog Australians against team Canada. While I do like Canada and do think they will probably win the group I think Australia can pose some problems for them with their size and international experience. So I'm taking the 6.5 points and hoping for a competitive game here from Australia.

0-2 day in OLYMBB so not the start I wanted. I didn't watch the Canada game but they were able to outlast Australia and cover in the process meanwhile Spain hung on after nearly blowing a 16 point lead against Greece. I watched the Spain game to get a better idea of this Spain team and you could really tell they're international experience is why they were able to win the game. That and the fact that they shot nearly 60% from 3 in the first half and almost 50% for the game checking in at 48%. Greece went cold when Giannis wasn't on the floor and really he is their whole offense. It looks like they won't be advancing to the knockout stage unless something crazy happens which is too bad because I was enjoying watching Giannis play.

2-1 day on the bases to finish the day 2-3. Not great that I lost both my olympic basketball plays but my plays on the diamond remain hot as I hit a big run line bet on the Diamondbacks with ease and the Yankees rallied late to go over their team total. Tomorrow we have some more action on the diamond and I'm not sure whether I'll have a play on the Olympic hoops games although I'm interested to actually watch the USA game to see how they look although I think South Sudan won't be nearly as competitive this time as they were last time against the USA in the friendlies.

Just two bases plays for me today as both Olympic basketball games were just too tough get involved with given the lofty spreads. I think the next batch of games will be better but we'll see when the time comes what I have for those ones.

I have two plays for the games today in mens basketball starting with Japan plus the points. I think Japan keeps this one close but I do lean Brazil to win the game. I just don't know whether they cover 5 so I'm taking the points with Japan here in a game that doesn't really matter a whole lot besides pride because neither team is going to advance.

My other play is on Germany to win the game against France. Germany has played better than France so far in this tournament and even though both teams have qualified I like Germany to win this game because I feel like France has looked shaky in this tournament despite having a roster considered to be by many the second best in the entire competition.

Yeah that wasn't a good play by me but Olympic basketball is tough to get a read on. Japan looked good against France but played today like they did in the first game when they also got spanked by Germany. I do think we get it back with Germany because I really do think they're a little bit better than France and they're going to want to win the group outright even though both of these teams have qualified.

0-2 Saturday as the Diamondbacks and Mets both lose. Just one play today and it's on the Cards in Sunday Night baseball. I don't trust Justin Steele and while the Cards have been shaky I think they can get to Steele and win to salvage a split in their four game series with the Cubbies.

1-1 day as both teams went to extra innings but only Arizona came through. I have a couple of Olympic basketball plays as the quarterfinals get started early Tuesday morning.

I think Germany is the second best team in this tournament and while I fully expect them to win the game against Greece I'm attacking the first half because I see Germany getting out to a nice lead at half and cruising to a win against a Greek team that struggles to shoot the ball. 8 is a little rich and might be open to a back door cover for the full game so I'm sticking with the first half here.

For my second play I'm taking the points with Australia. Australia is talented enough to hang with Serbia so I don't think they should be 7 point underdogs here. In fact I think you can make a case for taking a stab at the moneyline which is a nice +250 on BOL. I'm going to stick with taking the points here because I think this will be a close game that Australia will hang in there down to the wire.
