MLB
Toronto/Philadelphia u7.5 -106 1.06u to win 1u
Chicago Cubs -1.5 +105 1u to win 1.05u

Just two plays for me today as I try to limit my volume in other sports on the eve of NFL. I think the Philly and Toronto bats will be silenced today by the two starting pitchers so I'm going with an under in that game. My second play on the Cubs run line is the one I actually like better because I feel like the Cubs bats will feast on whoever the Pirates trot out there to the hill today. They crush starters on that team not named Skenes so I like them to cover the run line today.

NFL Week 1:
Baltimore/Kansas City 1H u23.5 -113 1.13u to win 1u
2 team 6 point teaser (Baltimore +9, Cincinnati -2.5) -110 1.1u to win 1u
Pittsburgh Steelers +3.5 -118 1.18u to win 1u
Las Vegas/LA Chargers u40.5 -110 1.1u to win 1u

Ok so I made 4 plays in NFL so far but if I see something I like later I'll be sure to post them in a different post. I have two plays essentially on tomorrow's big game between Baltimore and KC. I decided I like Baltimore tomorrow but I just took them as the first leg of my 6 point teaser that I combined with Cincinnati who I think should win their matchup fairly easily against New England who is rebuilding.

I like that Baltimore added Derrick Henry this season I think he was something that they've been missing in that backfield. I expect them to employ a run heavy attack which oddly enough was something they didn't do in the AFC championship game last season. Due to this I expect a close game which is why I like Baltimore to at least cover and maybe even outright win against a Chiefs team that may be a little fatigued from having made that Super Bowl run last year. That's also why I expect a lower scoring first half in this game because I expect Baltimore to run the football a lot and grind the clock and then on the other side I think they will make KC work for points on longer drives because I still expect Baltimore's defense to be good this year under Harbaugh so 1H under 23.5 might be a sharp look because I don't see too many touchdowns in the first half of the game.

My first of two plays on Sundays's games is on the Pittsburgh Steelers +3.5. I think in this game that I don't know what to expect from Atlanta. Kirk Cousins is banged up and old so I think Pittsburgh can cause havok on him defensively. The Steelers might struggle on offense in this game but I do think they will be able to run the football. Perhaps you play under in this one but I took the +3.5 because it was available on Heritage and I think the Steelers will at least keep this one close in a field goal type game.

My last play is on the Raiders and Chargers staying under 40.5. I don't like the Raiders offense this year because they may have picked the wrong starting QB. Gardner Minshew looked poor in preseason but the Raiders went for him because they paid him a lot of money. Whether he's able to right his wrongs that we saw in preseason remains to be seen in this one. On the other side Jim Harbaugh is back in the NFL and we can expect him to try to grind the clock and rely on his defense to win this game. I think this being a divisional game both teams are very familiar with their opponent so we see a lot of conservative play on offense and aggressive play on defense so under 40.5 is the play for me.

2-0 day baby as the Phillies game stays under and the Cubs pound the Pirates in a game that featured a combined no hitter by Cubs pitching. Nice to keep winning heading into the NFL weekend that's what I'm talking about.

All right so I went 1-0 yesterday with the total staying just under in the first half thanks to a missed field goal by Justin Tucker and an interception by Patrick Mahomes. Kind of played how I thought with both teams feeling each other out and then turning it up in the 2nd half with more explosive plays. Also my the first leg of my teaser hit which is why I like teasing games because Baltimore +3 seemed like the side I would have taken but it didn't cash last night thanks to that last play being ruled incomplete. Baltimore would have went for two and the game would have ended with them cashing or winning outright in regulation. Oh well on to the next I'm going to pass on the Philly/Green Bay game but I lean over the total in this one and I think this game favors Philadelphia although I don't know what to expect from a game in Brazil so I passed. I'm looking at the college football card for some plays for tomorrow and maybe even tonight with two games on the schedule.

Northwestern ML -120 1.2u to win 1u

NFL
Saquon Barkley o2.5 receptions -123 1.23u to win 1u

Ok so I was able to find something I liked in tonights NFL game down in Brazil. I don't play props all the time but they can be profitable if you hammer the ones that show value. I think in this game Saquon Barkley will get a lot of touches including some in the passing game. The Eagles love to throw to their running backs judging by how Kenneth Gainwell and Deandre Swift got 69 receptions on 86 targets between them last season. Well now that they have a true stud in the backfield in Saquon Barkley I expect them to feature him plenty tonight in Brazil so I'm taking over 2.5 receptions.

In the college football action tonight I think we see a low scoring defensive slugfest of a game between Duke and Northwestern. Northwestern and Duke both have stingy defenses and offenses that don't really look like they'll be explosive this year. I think in the end though that Northwestern does just enough on offense to eek a victory at home while Duke struggles again on offense against a stout Northwestern defense. I'm taking Northwestern on the ML because it's such a short spread that I don't want to mess with trusting Northwestern to cover but I do think they win so I'm playing them on the ML here.

Michigan +7 -104 1.04u to win 1u
Army +4 -108 1.08u to win 1u
Iowa -3 -103 1.03u to win 1u

I locked in my plays for Saturday as well just now. First I'm taking Michigan in the biggest game of the week against Texas. I think Texas is going to struggle a little offensively against Michigan because the biggest strength of Michigan's team is still their defense. I think they'll be able to hold Quinn Ewers and the Texas offense in check. I'm not sure they win this game but I do think we see a close contest tomorrow in the Big House and that this is an overreaction to week 1 that saw Texas bludgeon Colorado State and Michigan struggle on offense against Fresno State.

My second play is on Army tomorrow against FAU. This is one that probably isn't on a lot of people's radars but I think Army is going to pose some problems for FAU. They had trouble stopping the run last week in their game against Michigan State and this week they face an Army team that will run it down their throats until they stop it. I'm not sure they can so I'll gladly take the 4 points in a game I think Army can realistically win.

My last play is in the rivalry game between Iowa and Iowa State. This one truthfully could go either way that's just the nature of rivalries. However, I like Iowa here to win and hopefully cover at home against their rival because I still think they have an elite defense that will give Iowa State problems here on the road. I anticipate a close game but I'm just siding with Iowa to get it done here because I think they will show just enough offense to win a game that might be low scoring again.

You took Duke plus the points? Truthfully I almost did that but I ultimately went with Northwestern because Duke has so many question marks from their head coach down to their struggling offense. It will be a battle of two good defenses so we'll see what happens here.

Duke +2.5 from earlier in the week.

I agree with your comments on Duke and believe it will be a defensive struggle.
Duke had a great transfer portal score and a very strong FPI rating from 2023 relative to NW so I'm banking a little on that.

Welp 0-2 today as it just didn't go my way. I thought for certain that Saquon would get one more catch but he just never got it despite getting a boatload of touches against Green Bay. Northwestern had that game against Duke until they didn't in overtime. Tough loss but I got to say Duke's Quarterback is impressive and they deserved to win that game tonight. Hopefully tomorrow goes better with my three college football plays still pending.

1-2 day today as Army wins outright but Michigan gets blown out in dominant fashion by Texas and Iowa blows a 13 point lead. That last one hurt because I actually thought I was in good shape when Iowa was up two scores at half but good comeback by Iowa State to win the game with a late field goal. Overall a 1-3 weekend in college football which isn't good but it was a tough week for sure. We just got to bounce back next week that's all anyone can do.
